Preferred Qualifications

•Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level;
•Record of designing curriculum, developing courses, and establishing new laboratory activities;
•Strong promise of research in a primarily undergraduate institution;
•Record of sponsored scholarship;
•Related professional experience outside academia;
•Strong interest in autonomous driving vehicle technology, mobility research, especially in collaboration with engineering faculty.

Job Specific Required Qualifications

•Earned PhD in Physics, or a closely related field from an accredited institution;
•ABD with completion by time of appointment will be considered;
•Ability to teach a wide range of undergraduate lecture and laboratory courses in physics;
•Record of scholarly achievement and evidence of potential for future achievement commensurate with the rank of Assistant Professor;
•Demonstrated written and oral communication skills in the English language;
•Ability and desire to contribute through department, university, community and professional service work;
•Ability to strengthen an existing research area of the physics department, and
•Understanding and commitment to Kettering University Values:
